The download area contains trial versions, updates, patches and utilities for various versions of Music Works. Please note that due to the prohibitively large file sizes for full upgrades, we can only provide minor patches and updates here.

Download the trial version of Music Works Personal 2.5
The trial version of Music Works Personal allows you to try out all the functions of Music Works for yourself. It can be used with no restrictions for 30 days from the date you install it. After this time, printouts are 'watermarked' with an 'unregistered version' message. After 60 days, saving is disabled, and after 90 days, the programme will disable itself. The trial version will also automatically play the current composition (if there is one) after a few minutes of inactivity.

Click on Installation Instructions for installation information. There is a patch available for the evaluation version. If your copy of Music Works stops working before the evaluation period has finished, you may need this patch. Download the patch update for the trial version of Music Works Personal After dowloading the patch, copy it to your Music Works directory, and run the program. It will upgrade your Music Works installation.

Download the upgrade from 2.5 to 2.5 SP1
For users with Music Works 2.5 build #62, there is an upgrade to correct a number of issues and provide many enhancements. This upgrade must only be applied to Music Works 2.5. If it is applied to an earlier version of Music Works, you will have to re-install Music Works from the installation disks.
After downloading the exe file, execute it to upgrade your installation.

Download the Music Works 2.3 build #50 update
For users with Music Works 2.3 build #48, there is an upgrade to correct two small problems. The first problem relates to tied notes still playing as separate notes if they are accidentals, and the second problem some MIDI events receiving an incorrect MIDI event identifying number! Neither are serious problems, but both can be fixed with this patch. Do not use this patch with the trial version.

Download the Music Works 2.2 build #35 update
This update is only for users of version 2.2 who have not already installed a patch. It will not work with other versions.
Use this update if the About box (select About from the Help menu to show the About box) shows Version 2.2 but does not display a build number. Click on Installation Instructions for information about installing this update.
