Music Works Personal 2.6 in beta testing phase
Well, it's taken us a while, but the first true 32 bit version of Music Works is now in the beta testing phase. Version 2.6 also contains a large number of bug fixes and improvements over version 2.5. Registered beta testers can download the beta version from the Developers section. Service Pack 1 for Music Works Personal 2.5 released
The first service pack for Music Works Personal 2.5. SP1 is specifically for users with Music Works Personal 2.5 build 62 (look in the About Box from the Help menu to determine your version). This is an upgrade to correct a number of issues in the first release version 2.5 and also to provide some enhancements. You can download the SP1 from the Download section.

Middle Earth Software System is now tierramedia.com
You've probably noticed that the old Middle Earth Software Systems web site has changed somewhat. That's because Middle Earth Software Systems is now tierramedia.com. We'll be continuing to support the existing MESS software while developing new 32 bit versions of Music Works.

Music Works Personal 2.5 released
Version 2.5 on Music Works has now been released. Loads of new features have been added since version 2.3 such as:

Undo/Redo - unlimited undo/redo is supported
Clef changes - Music Works supports clef changes on a stave
Insert/Delete - New options to insert and delete bars or parts of bars
Transpose - transpose has been improved considerably.It is now possible to select an entire
score with different key signatures and transpose in a single operation
Ties, slurs and triplets can be dragged around after insertion
Ties, slurs, triplets and beams can now attach to rests as well as
notes. It is therefore possible to include a rest in a group of triplets
Notes and other objects can be made invisible
Tuplets are now supported. A 'tupletise' option has been added
H beam rests are supported
Bar numbering has been improved. Bar numbering can start at numbers other than one. Different bar numbering is also supported such as the first bar on each line
The End of Song object can now be used as an End of Line object for
producing multiple compositions on a single page.
Start up procedures have been improved
Multiple copies can now coexist
Playing has been improved considerably
MIDI file import and export have been considerably improved
Other operations that previously had size limitations (such as autolayout)
have had the size limitations increased considerably.
