So just what is Music Works? Well, it’s a powerful music scoring, recording and editing program for Microsoft Windows. It can record from and playback to MIDI devices such as a synthesizer, and produce music notation that can be edited, and rearranged before printing out in color or black and white.

You can also unleash your creative flair and create compositions from scratch using simple drag and drop editing. Music Works can even read in MIDI format files, and with the tools provided, you can produce excellent, fully annotated scores.
It's as easy as selecting from the wide range of musical objects, and placing them into your composition. Listen to the notes as you drag them around. Use the cut, copy and paste functions to build your creation, or even record directly from a MIDI instrument.
Music Works operates using standard music notation, and provides a host of tools for manipulating your composition including transposing, quantising, and replicating. A huge selection of annotations can be added including rests, dynamics, ornaments, repeats, guitar chords, text and lyrics.
